1. In general, what did you like and dislike about the film?

It's great to see the Apartheid conflict from the point of view of a ''normal'' man that's not into politics (at first at least), a family man who's goal it's to work hard in order to mantain his family and survive the horrible misfortunes that the regime causes in his life. A lot of the movies we've seen since the start has been about ''prominent'' figures like Mandela or so, this is the exception, a very nice exception.
I also liked its variety of characters (men, women, blacks, whites) that went for and agaisnt the revolution, it really influenced in the various ways and perspectives we see in the film.

I loved the scene of the ANC training at Mozambique, when Obadi chants ''Are you ready to die?'' and everyone responds ''Yes commander'', it really makes you feel the will of the people there to give it all for their objetive, change South Africa for the better. (It was a bit ironic than after that, almost all of them died)

I also really enjoyed the final parts when the actual Patrick Chamusso says why he didn't take revenge on Nick Voss.

2. Who was the character you liked the most and the character you liked the least in the film? Why?

It's pretty obvious that everyone loves Patrick Chamusso, including me, of course, after all he's the main character. His development was amazing, I think his transformation was simply astonishing, he went from being a man that really didn't care about fighting agaisnt Apartheid to someone that decided to sacrifice everything to end the system and have his family live in a place where democracy and equity reigns and stop anybody from going trough the atrocities that he went trough.

I also enjoyed the apperances of Sixpence and his uncle, even though they didn't get a lot of screen time, it looked like they really understood Patrick and his motivation to do what he had to.

I kind of disliked the character of Nick Voss's daughter, mainly because I think she was a little wasted and had much more potential to influence in the story as a white privileged person that thought that Apartheid was not good at all.

3. What was the role of Samora Machel, the FRELIMO, and revolutionary Mozambique in the struggle against the South African apartheid?

Samora Machel and his organization, the Frente de Libertação de Moçambique (FRELIMO) was the main support of the ANC in the border, they hosted a lot of the training camps for the south africans revolutionaries that wanted to take part in the combat agaisnt Apartheid. In the movie, Patrick Chamusso was capacitated by Omadi at one of those centers.

The FRELIMO also assisted other countries in their revolutionary movements, one of them being Zimbabwe, becoming one of the most important african activist groups that seeked freedom for all the continent.
